Bert Frederick Mezenen
November 17, 1932 - April 19, 2023
Morgan; On Wednesday, April 19th, 2023, Bert F. Mezenen, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family.
Dad began working at Hill in 51, only to be drafted into the Army in 53. He served abroad for just under two years, traveling through Europe, before returning to the states and finishing an eight-year stint with the reserves and returning to Hill for a wonderful 38-year career. Dad retired in 88.
Dad married his eternal partner Marlene Mae Sorensen, on April 20, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 25, 1980.
Dad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and took pride in serving others.
Dad enjoyed many things, from making old 8mm movies as a young man, obtaining his pilot’s license, to traveling the world over. After retirement, Mom and Dad traveled from Alaska to Florida, spending their winter months in Indio, California. He enjoyed meeting new friends and had the knack of turning strangers into lifelong friends.
Dad was an avid volunteer, providing hours of devotion to those in need, such as Meals on Wheels, John F. Kennedy Hospital where he worked in pharmaceuticals, RCB Shuffle Board Chairperson, and last but not least, the Indio CHIP''s (Citizens Helping Indio Police) program where he was just shy of reaching 20 years of service.
Dad was preceded in death by both parents, two siblings and his loving wife and one daughter.
Surviving are his children, Julie and Roland Haslam, Morgan, UT; Roger and Shelly Mezenen, Morgan, UT; eight grandchildren and three step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren.
Friends may visit family Tuesday, April 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker’s Mortuary, 45 W. 200 N. Morgan, Ut.
Graveside services will be held at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery, 1718 Combe Rd., So. Ogden, Utah at 11am Wednesday April 26th.

James "Jim" Edgar Folsom
April 28, 1935 - January 12, 2022
James Edgar Folsom, also known as Big Jim to his friends, 86 of Ogden passed away Wednesday, January 12 2022, at McKay Dee Hospital of natural causes. Born April 28 1935, in Willston, North Dakota, to Irl Edgar and Hattie Eliszabeth Smith Folsom, the youngest of four children. He graduated in Oregon from Salem High School Class of 1954. He eventually got an associate in accounting from Stevens Henager College. Jim was a member of the Navy Reserves and then enlisted in the USAF and served during the Korean War.
Jim would meet his wife Ella Long at a dance with friends and they were married December 27,1960. They raised four daughters together. Jim eventually retired in 1992 as a supervisor in aircraft mechanics from Hill Air Force Base in Layton. Jim and Ella enjoyed camping with family and friends and were members of the Good Sams Club. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the American Legion where he and Ella would make lifelong friends.
Jim is survived by four daughters, Robin (Armando) Izatt, Karry (Rusty) Larson, Nan Shafer and Tammy (Randy) Bockas. He was a grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 34 great-grandchildren, with one on the way and sister Joyce, (Dean) Becker of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Starla Tucker; and two sisters, Betty Jean Folsom and Velma Louise Sundent.
Jim is remembered by his family and friends as funny, respectful and caring. He loved to attend Weber State Football Games. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandchildren. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Wayne Spendlove

Wayne Spendlove
Wayne is the son of Melvin and Della Mae (Oram) Spendlove and lived in Milton, Utah on the family farm. He was born November 17, 1930 in Ogden, Weber, Utah. He attended the Morgan schools and graduated from Morgan High School. He married Deyon Eakins, August 7, 1950, in Henefer, Summit, Utah. He worked for several years at Cream O’Weber Dairy in Ogden, Utah and then purchased his own semi-truck and hauled livestock throughout Utah, Nevada and Idaho. After giving up trucking; he worked for and retired from Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, Utah, where he was an airplane mechanic.
He and Deyon traveled much with a Good Sam’s Group and made many friends along the way. They also enjoyed spending time camping at the Manor Lands near Mirror Lake. They lived their entire married life in Morgan, Utah. Wayne was an avid supporter of the Morgan High School football team and seldom missed a game both at home and away.
He is the last of his family to return home. His brothers and sisters are: Dean Oram Spendlove, Della Kay Spendlove Evans and Dale Spendlove.
The family expresses their appreciation to the Encompass Hospice team for their love and care during these past few months.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, Morgan, Utah. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Henefer Cemetery, Henefer, Utah, starting at noon, September 23, 2020.

George Arthur Ford

George Arthur Ford, 102, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 8, 2020.
George was born in Ogden on November 3, 1917, the son of James Albert Ford and Ida May Burton. He was the fourth of six children; his siblings are Lawrence, Leonard, Marzetta Dehning, Albert, and Arvona (Bonnie) Davis. He graduated from Ogden High School.
He was married to his eternal sweetheart Lorraine Barnes in the Salt Lake Temple by President David O. McKay on May 15, 1940. Lorraine died on Oct. 16, 1998, after more than 58 years of marriage.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II as a radio operator in B-17 Bomber. He flew 25 bombing missions over Germany during the war, and several food drop missions over Holland. In 1985, the country of Holland awarded him with the Medal of Liberation. He was also awarded a Medal of Honor from France and Air Medals and Major Battle Stars from the United States. He worked for the Railway Express Agency and retired from Hill Air Force Base.
He has served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They included bishop and Ogden LDS Temple as an ordinance worker as well as many others. He was a great example to many and was revered and loved by all those who knew him and he has left a great legacy for his family.
He enjoyed fishing, reading, writing life stories and helping his family and friends with needed projects. He is a lifetime member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and a member of the Northern Utah Golden Spikers Good Sam Club.
He survived by his children Pamela Erickson (Kent deceased), and Gregory (Sharon) Ford. His grandchildren include Tracie, Mike, Nate, Matt, Nick, Shannon, Kellie and Andrew. He also currently has 20 great-grandchildren of which two are deceased.
Private graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Friends may visit with family on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Please bring your own mask for the services.

Adell Wheeler Timmerman
Adell is survived by her children, Jolyn T. McMullin (Clifford), Jan T. Hyde (Gary), Brent W. Timmerman, and Sandy Price (Grant); 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, siblings, and one great-grandson.

Elaine Timmerman, Layton - 88, passed away August 3, 2019 at 6am peacefully at home.
She was a member of the Good Sam’s Club. She was preceded in death by her brother William (Bill) Timmerman. Surviving are her sister-in-law Adell Timmerman, nieces, Jolyn (Clifford) McMullin, Jan (Gary) Hyde, Sandy (Grant) Price, nephew Brent William Timmerman and lifelong companion of 46 years, Lorraine George. She touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

James Phares (JP) Smith
JP served in the US Navy and Air Force before retiring from Hill AFB. JP was a member of the Good Sam Club. He enjoyed hunting, camping, baseball, traveling with Janet and spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed being on Bohman’s mountain with his family and friends. JP was a loyal friend and was known for his great sense of humor and his practical jokes.
JP is survived by his four children, Jeff Smith; Janice Condo (Lyndal Fitzgerald); Vickie Kent (Kelly); Michelle Smith, (Tonya Crabb); eight grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Melanie, Matt, Jessica, Jason, Bryan and Max, and eight great grandchildren. JP is also survived by three sisters; Janet Nichols, Joyce Smith and Barbara Adams and many close friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Lotus Park for the kindness and care they extended to JP during his stay.
Graveside services will be held on October 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm, Hooper Cemetery, 5290 S. 6300 West.

Jeffery Scott Coffey

Scott was a faithful member of the LDS Church. He was often found providing service to others and it brought him great joy.
He enjoyed being outdoors, biking, camping, and hiking but enjoyed most of all playing and reading with his grandkids. He was also a collector of antiques and eagle items.
Scott is survived by his wife Teri; children, Casey Hoaglin, Jessica (Austin) Sollars, Keelie Hoaglin (Joel Marchello), Jordan (Logen) Coffey, Cody Coffey (Katie Shaffer) and Chauncy Hoaglin; 11 grandchildren and his siblings, Steven (Laura) Coffey, Mike (Chrisan) Coffey, Karleene (Roger) Owens and RuthAnn (Steve) Harvey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Highlands Ward, 5855 Skyline Dr., So. Ogden. Viewings will be held at the church on Thursday, May 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 to10:45 a.m. Interment in the South Morgan Cemetery.

Afton (Grange) Anderson
She married Raymond Sheldon Anderson on August 14, 1946 in San Francisco, CA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on September 29, 1964.
Afton was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Plain City 2nd and Washington Terrace 10th Ward. Her favorite calling was a visiting teacher.
She worked for a short time at the IRS. Afton enjoyed dancing with Dad, square dancing, and wintering with friends in Arizona.
Afton is survived by her children, Christine (Lincoln) Adams, South Weber; Bonnie Dawson, Roy; and Andrea Folkman, Farr West; Craig S. (Shirley) Anderson, Meridan, ID; and R. Sheldon Anderson, Plain City; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, daughter, Debra Kay Anderson; son-in-law, Tim Folkman; grandson, Dax Adams; three brothers, and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Janet Vickers Smith, 78, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday, April 4,2016 surrounded by her loving family at McKay-Dee Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1937 in Nephi, Utah to Harold and Opal Johansen Vickers. September 29, 1956, Janet married J.P. Smith in Clearfield, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings. Janet was a member of the Good Sam Club. She enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was very supportive of them in their activities.
Janet is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.P.; their children, Jeff Smith, Clearfield; Janice (Lyndal Fitzgerald) Condo, Manassas, VA; Vickie (Kelly) Kent, West Haven; Michelle (Tonya) Smith, Hooper; eight grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Matthew, Jessica, Jason, Bryan, Melanee, Max; five great-grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Vern.

William Fred Timmerman
Layton, UT; William Fred Timmerman, Layton – William Fred Timmerman passed away June 8, 2014 at McKay Dee Hospital. He was born October 11, 1930 in Ogden the son of Rachael Anna Rose and Fred H. Timmerman. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married his high school sweetheart, Adell Wheeler on April 28, 1950 in Ogden, one year later they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He retired from Questar after many years of service. He was a member of the Weber County Search and Rescue Jeep Patrol for over 40 years and served as a commander. Bill enjoyed sports; especially baseball and football. He loved traveling, camping and was a member of the Northern Utah Good Sam's Chapter. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Adell; his children, Jolyn (Clifford) McMullin, Jan (Gary) Hyde, Brent William Timmerman and Sandy (Grant) Price; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and one sister, Elaine Timmerman. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Noah Gabrielle Vaughn. William C. “Bill” England, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born to Clyde Heber and Virginia Allen England on July 23, 1929 in Ogden, Utah. Bill drove semi trucks for several years with his father for the family business. He was a lifelong resident of Ogden.
He married Mary Jeanette Hurst on June 2, 1950 in Farmington, Utah.
Bill enjoyed doing woodworking crafts, and spending countless hours beautifying his yard. He belonged to the Northern Utah Good Sam Club and loved to travel. Bill loved antique cars and belonged to the Golden Spike Antique Car Club.
Bill was an active member of the Pleasant Valley 3rd Ward.
He worked as an Aircraft Electrical Inspector for Hill Air Force Base for 32 years.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Mary England, South Ogden; sons, Jerry William (Teresa) England, Uintah; and Tony Lorance (Robyn) England, Layton; daughters, Judy Kay Glismann, South Ogden; and Terri Ann (Bruce) Nelson, Logan; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Richard England, Layton; and sisters, Cleo Perry, Lake Forest, CA; and Dorothy Terrell, Apply Valley, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dee and Robert England.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Aultorest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

HARRISVILLE - William Joseph Marsh, 73, Beloved husband , father, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at home after a courageous nine month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bill was born in Denver CO., on December 21, 1939 to Thomas and Cecelia Marsh.
He grew up in Denver before they moved to Long Beach CA.
He married his devoted wife of 52 years Darlene Carol Brisco on September 30, 1961.
Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an Electronics Technician on the B-52 Bomber.
Bill is survived by his wife Darlene, Daughter; Deborah Sturdavant, Son; Dennis (Peggy) Marsh and Sister; Dixie Suarez, and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim and sister Barbara.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 10, 2013 at 11 am at St. James The Just Catholic Church, 495 N. Harrison BLVD., Ogden, Utah.
The family will meet with friends for the viewing from 10:30 to 11 am. prior to the services.
Internment will take place on Friday, October 11, 2013 at noon at the Utah Veterans Cemetery, 17111 S. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
